Mrs. Erin Wilder

I received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and my Masters Degree from The City College of New York. Prior to teaching at JFK, I taught elementary school & mentored city teachers in central Harlem and the South Bronx for 5 years. Additionally, I taught in a village school and worked with women’s literacy & development groups in Kenya. I have been involved in education since 1999.

I am the oldest of 4 children and grew up in Port Jefferson, New York. I have a wonderful husband, Mark, and three young sons -- Dimitri, Jack and Benjamin. As a family, we love to explore the outdoors as much as possible, whether this means camping/cabin-ing in the Catskills, climbing mountains in Peru, or strolling along the shores of Long Island. Regardless of where our days take us, we always snuggle together around our favorite books -- reading, listening, wondering and lingering -- as our family nighttime ritual.

I love hiking, biking, traveling, reading, horseback riding,
and doing yoga. Namaste!
