REAP
The Academy for Retired Executives and Professionals
Are you Newly Retired, partly retired, or an experienced Retiree?
If you would like to meet other retired people in the community to share interesting programs, consider joining us at REAP. We are a self-directed group that meets weekly at the Cumberland Adult Center in Great Neck. Our members come from many parts of Nassau and Queens.
We meet every Tuesday (12 months a year) from 9 AM to 1 PM. Bring your lunch, we provide coffee and tea. Our programs include guest experts as well as knowledgeable members presenting lectures and discussions on a wide range of subjects, including books, art, culture, history, science, current events and community issues, finance and film. We also arrange local trips of cultural and historic interest. Annually we publish a magazine of literature and art created by our members.
For the increasing number of retirees in the area we offer intellectual stimulation, a broadening of horizons to new fields of interest and widening friendships. Education is a lifelong process and REAP activities provide a multifaceted opportunity for it.
The Cumberland Adult Center is at 30 Cumberland Avenue, just East of Lakeville Road and South of Northern boulevard. The school has ample free parking.
