January 24, 2012
Tuesday
The Board of education meets with the representatives of GNTA and UPTC to discuss their concerns. (7:30 p.m. in the North High Little Theater) followed by a Board Meeting at 8:30 p.m. in the North High Lecture Room.

January 26, 2012
Thursday
Working Budget delivered to Superintendent and his staff.

January 27, 2012
Friday
Superintendent, staff and others - all day budget review session.

March 2, 2012
Friday
The Superintendent transmits the Preliminary Working Budget to the Board of Education, administrative and teaching faculty, support personnel, officers of employee unions and associations, UPTC, PTA Presidents, libraries, schools and other interested persons who request a copy of the document.

March 12, 2012

INFORMAL PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING: The Board of Education meets with representatives of GNTA and all other unions and associations, and with the Adult Education Advisory Committee, to discuss the Preliminary Working Budget and to receive their recommendations. (Comments from the public will be invited.) (North High School - 8:00 p.m.)

INFORMAL PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING: The Board of Education meets with the UPTC Budget Committee, PTA Presidents and Student Delegates, to discuss the Preliminary Working Budget and to receive their recommendations. (Comments from the public will be invited.) (South High School - 8:00 p.m.)

The Board of Education holds a public meeting with the Superintendent and his administrative team to discuss the Preliminary Working Budget and to consider its options in regard to the Budget. (South High Library - 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

April 17, 2012
Tuesday
OFFICIAL PUBLIC HEARING and ADOPTION OF BUDGET: The Board of Education holds the official hearing. It indicates to the audience its tentative decisions prior to receiving comment from the public. The Board of Education will then adopt the Proposed Budget. (This is the budget that the Board will ask residents to approve at its Annual Meeting.) (North Middle School - 8:00 p.m.)

ANNUAL BUDGET HEARING (Discussion only): The Board of Education holds the annual budget hearing as required by Statute. (South Middle - 8:00 p.m.)

May 15, 2012
Tuesday
BIDGET VOTE and ANNUAL Meeting: Voting takes place at the E.M. Baker School and South High School from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Board of Education, meeting in public session at 10:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Phipps Administration Building, will receive the report of voting from the District Clerk.
