General Ideas for Use

  • New York Historical Fair Project (see resource binder) - focuses on famous New Yorkers or those who contributed to New York State History
  • New York State Travel Brochure- numerous ways to incorporate several categories of information pertinent to New York State; teachers/students tailor brochure to meet specific needs/interests.
  • Create a Mystery Treasure Chest as each student researches an aspect of New York State, writes detailed clues about the person, place or historic event, and constructs an artifact to include in the"mystery treasure box." Trade boxes with other classes, schools or states.
