Eighth-Grade Residency
Re-Verification

The annual Great Neck
Public Schools Residency Re-Verification for current eighth-grade
students collects documentation that will assist in assembling
students' records for high school, and to verify that all students
who enter the district high schools are legal residents of the
district and entitled to attend.
Parents/legal guardians of all current eighth-graders are sent a
mailing in late February/early March that explains the
documentation required and the method for submission. Additional
information may be obtained by calling the middle school that your
child presently attends, or by clicking the information links
below. Re-Verification must be completed before a current
eighth-grade student will be admitted to high school.
The Board of Education considers valid student residency to be an
important component in confronting the district's fiscal
challenges. Re-Verification is one tool to ensure that every child
who is educated in the district's schools is legally entitled to
that education.
