WHAT IS TESL?
The goal of the TESL program is to teach children English as a second language. At Parkville School there are many children who speak languages other than English at home. This program helps children acquire proficiency in English.
HOW DOES TESL WORK?
The TESL program uses an English curriculum that is structured to meet the needs of our early childhood program. It includes vocabulary, literature, conversation, games, activities, songs, and chants. The children take part in small group lessons weekly.
Parents are encouraged to take part in their child's English language development. The TESL teacher is available to answer any questions and offer suggestions.
