DECEMBER 21ST

  This year's mid-term testing will take place on Wed., Jan.25th and Thurs. Jan 26th.  Next year's testing schedule will return to testing on Monday and Tuesday of mid-term week. SG is hopeful that students once again will be allowed to eat in the main lobby. Students were reminded of their responsibility to have this privelege.

DECEMBER 21ST

  The annual Teens for Jeans campaign took place in December. Hundreds of jeans will be donated to Aeropastale to be distributed to homeless shelters around the country. Concerns were expressed about keeping vending machines around the school stocked. Rebel Olympics will take place on March 17th.

NOVEMBER 21ST

  Principal Elliott attended the November Student Government Meeting.  Representatives reported that students are still concerned about testing issues and particularly the number and frequency of quizzes. Clarification was given regarding the recommendation that assignments before vacations be given a week before and due at least 3 days after vacaton.  Any club or team interested in using the new school mascot must sign-up with the Deans. Students expressed interest in creating a student technology forum to identify technology concerns including student e-mail, We-fi, filter issues. Please contact any SG Board member or SG  rep for additional information or concerns.

OCTOBER 18TH

     The second Student Government meeting of the year was held on Oct. 18th.  Representatives reported on feedback from students in Social Studies classes.  Discussions included concerns about tests and quizzes, assignments given over vacations and the new Drop/Add policy.  There was also some discussion about sharing information among clubs about special projects or sales. Please contact any SG Board member or representative about any issues or concerns that you would like to be discussed at the next SG meeting set for November 21 during period 8 in room 437.

 

SEPTEMBER 21ST

     Student Government held its first meeting of the school year on Wednesday, Sept. 21.  All newly elected members were welcomed.  Discussion included roles of each representative and committee member, improving communication with all students and establishing goals for the year.  We look forward to a successful year!
