Application Deadline: October 1st, 2012 @ 5:00pm
Eligibility: Individual projects (12th grade ONLY) or Team Projects (grades 9 through 12)

Social and behavioral science research projects are not eligible. Social science is considered to be the study of society or social behavior. Behavioral science is considered any project that involves the study of the actions and reactions of humans and animals through observation and experimental methods.

Eligibility: Individual 12th grade ONLY

No projects involving live non-human vertebrate animal experimentation will be eligible. Read website for further details.



3. Neuroscience Research Prize
Submission Deadline: October 15, 2012
Eligibility: Grades 9-12, individual only, Neuroscience




4. Long Island Psychology Fair
Application Deadline: October 19, 2012 @ noon
Competition Date: January 10th, 2013 (January 11th Snow Date) from 3pm to 7pm
Location: Roslyn High School
Format: 10 min PowerPoint Presentation followed by 5 min Q&A
Eligibility: Any student or team of students / 35$ per student. You must first apply and then be invited.
Limitations: No more than 7 projects per school



5. NYSSEF Andromeda Division
Registration: Begins January 4th, 2013 - Ends January 28, 2013
Competition Date: April 29, 2013 - precise time and date TBA
Location: Robert Frost Middle School (Deer Park, NY)
Eligibility: Grades 9 through 12 / $60 per student
Limitations: No more than 15 projects per school



6. Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF)
LISEF Competition Date: February 12, 2013 (Round 1), March 11, 2013 (Round 2 and awards)
Eligibility:Grades 9 through 12 - Only 9 (last year - 2012) projects allowed to enter in total from GNS

Each student may enter only one project that covers research done over a maximum of 12 continuous months between January 2011 and May 2012.

Individual AND team (2 or 3 members) projects accepted

8. Long Island Science and Engineering Fair (LISEF) Junior Varsity Competition
LISEF Junior Varsity Competition Date: March 11, 2013 - 8am to 4pm
Eligibility: Grade 9 - 12 with a maximum of 5 projects per school. Remaining eligibility is similar LISEF (see above). Registration Deadline: January 16, 2013 @ 11:59pm
