The Saddle Rock Student Government is made up of a delegate and alternate from each class. The job of these students is to communicate the news and activities of the SG to their classmates. We meet once or twice a month. Our first meeting at the beginning of each year is for both delegates and alternates. Alternates are also invited to the Valentine meeting and the year-end breakfast. The delegate has the responsibility of calling their alternate if they are ever unable to attend a meeting.

Food, Clothing and Toy Drive
Our Food, Clothing and Toy Drive began this year in December. We are collecting gently used clothes, boxed or canned food, and new unwrapped toys. Toys are especially needed. Representatives from Hempstead Outreach and the Interfaith Nutrition Network will collect our donations on the Holiday Assembly.
Valentine’s Day
We continue our tradition of making giant Valentine cards for the residents of Grace Plaza, a nursing and rehabilitation center in Great Neck. We have done this for many years, and the guests and residents of Grace Plaza are always appreciative of the children’s Valentine wishes. For the past several years, we have also been sending some of our Valentines to veterans on Long Island, as part of Nassau County’s Valentines for Veterans program.
April Lunch Menu
For many years, Saddle Rock Student Government has been designing one month’s lunch menu. This year, each class will create a nutritionally balanced lunch for the month of April, and Mrs. Daley-Jimenez of our Food and Nutrition Department will do her best to try to meet the requests. Look for your April menu in the Spring!
School Store
Each year, Student Government hosts the School Store, open only during Spring Walk Through. We have many specialized Saddle Rock items for sale, many imprinted with our school name and a picture of our mascot, Spike. Profits from the school store support many important causes throughout the year.
Year End Breakfast
The year-end breakfast is Student Government's big finale. It takes place in June. Both representatives and delegates are invited to attend.
