Grammy William A. Shine ~ Great Neck South High School Performing Arts Department *2007 (Gibson Grant Recipient), 2005 & 2003 Grammy Signature School* has been named a 2010 GRAMMY Signature School FINALIST by the Grammy foundation. Just as the Grammy award recognizes excellence in recording, the GRAMMY Signature High Schools program honors public high school music programs that promote and preserve music education as a key part of their curriculum. All public high schools nationwide have the opportunity to apply for consideration as a GRAMMY Signature School. Weighted surveys which detail the scope of the music programs are tabulated and top schools are selected to receive the honor of being designated as GRAMMY Signature Schools. The top 120 scoring schools are asked to submit audio, and printed materials which are reviewed by a distinguished panel of music industry and educational professionals to determine the top music programs. Forty schools are chosen. GNSHS Music Department is very pleased to have been chosen once again as a GRAMMY FINALIST, one of only 120 high schools in the nation for this distinguished honor. Links
