Rebel Pen

Ms. Kuhn and Mrs. Marr are honored to share that The Rebel Pen, South Middle's art and literary magazine, received the rank of SUPERIOR - Nominated for Highest Award in the 2012 NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) national program to recognize excellence in student literary magazines.  Four hundred and seventeen schools entered PRESLM nationwide.  Only ten were rated SUPERIOR - Nominated for Highest Award in the state of NY: 9 high schools (including South High's Exit 33) and 1 middle school (our own Rebel Pen).  Rebel Pen is the highest rated middle school literary and art magazine in New York State!  Congratulations to our Rebel Pen staff and student contributors.  A special thanks to South Middle parents, teachers, and administrators for encouraging and nurturing our student contributors.
