*Middleview, the South Middle School newspaper, is challenging the students of South Middle to participate in the New York Times' upcoming editorial writing contest. An editorial is a newspaper article that gives an opinion on a current news topic. How do you feel about today's politics? Technology? Fashion? Middleview is urging students to write about a topic that interests them. Finished articles can be given to Mrs. Dervin in room 610 or Mrs. Klein in room 623; these two teachers will help students submit the assignment to the New York Times. All entered essays will also be featured in our school's Middleview paper. The New York Times contest ends on April 5, so students are encouraged to get writing! Please see Mrs. Dervin or Mrs. Klein for additional information.
