The Great Neck Public School’s Webmail System has now been updated. This new and improved system will make reading, composing, and managing email messages much easier. Below are some of the new and exciting features that will provide greater functionality to users.
      • A single user interface for all web browsers. This means that Mac Users will no longer be forced to use the basic version that is more limited in functionality. Mac and PC users will see the same interface whether they are using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari.
      • All messages are now listed on one easy to use scrolling list. There is no need to sift through multiple pages to track down email messages.
      • The ability to search through a mailbox by keyword, subject, message recipients, etc to find messages or items.
      • The ability to select multiple messages at once.
      • The ability to delete the contents of entire folders (inbox, sent items, etc).
      • A more robust editing window that provides users with the ability to add fonts, colors, and other markups (underlines, bold, etc) to messages.
      • Easier to use and more robust menu options.
      • Coming Soon: The new system will give users the ability to configure a smart phone to check GNPS mail without having to use the phone’s browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use the same user name and password to login?
A: Yes. The user name and password you have been using for email will still be used to log you into the new system.

Q: How do I access the new Webmail system?
A: Clicking the Webmail link on the main page of the GNPS web site will take you to the Logon Page of the new system.

Q: Has all of my mail been transferred to the new system?
A: Yes. All of your email messages, contacts, and calendar items have been migrated to the new system.

Q: Will we now have unlimited space to store email?
A: The new system will allow for current mailbox quotas to more than double in size allowing users to store more items in their mailboxes. As with all systems that store information, there is an upper limit on storage space so users should still be mindful of messages received from the System Administrator regarding quotas. These warnings must still be given their proper attention as users will be unable to send mail once they have exceeded the quota.

Q: Will recipients who are whitelisted in the junk email filtering system still be whitelisted in the new system?
A: Yes. All whitelist entries and other junk email settings will be migrated to the new system.
