Watch the Board of Education candidate interviews 24/7, on demand, at The program may also be viewed on GNPS/TV in the incorporated villages of Great Neck on Cablevision Channel 75 and on Verizon Channel 32, at 8, 9, and 10 a.m., and at 12, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 p.m. The program is approximately 40 minutes in length.

Candidates are each running for specific seats. Those running for Lawrence Gross's Trustee position are Nikolas Kron and Jeffrey Shi. Mr. Gross is not seeking reelection.

Candidates running for Susan Healy's Trustee position are Ilya Aronovich and Rebecca Sassouni. Ms. Healy is not seeking reelection.

Michael Golden and Grant Toch withdrew as candidates and were not interviewed.

Carol Frank conducted the interviews. Ms. Frank is the former associate editor of the Great Neck Record and a current board member of the Water Authority of Great Neck North. She conducted similar interviews for the Board election last December, and an election several years ago.

Each candidate was asked the same six questions. Candidates were not given the questions in advanced and they had up to three minutes to respond to each question.

Voting - for the two School Board Trustee positions, the 2017-18 Proposed Budget, and the 2017 Revised Bond Referendum will take place on Tuesday, May 16, from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Qualified voters residing north of the LIRR can vote at the Baker School (69 Baker Hill Road). Qualified voters residing south of the LIRR can vote at South High School (341 Lakeville Road).
