  • 2023-24 GNPS School Budget PASSES 4,206 - 2,261 (65%)

    The 2023-24 GNPS School Budget passes - 4,259 YES votes to 2,261 NO votes. The Great Neck Library Budget also passes. Rebecca Sassouni is re-elected and Joanne Chan is elected as Board Trustees. Thank you to the Great Neck Public Schools community for your ongoing support of education in our district!

  • 2023-24 Budget Newsletter Available Online

    The 2023-24 Budget Newsletter is available online and print copies have been mailed to residents. Additional information, including budget presentations, voting information, and names of the Board of Education candidates are available on the budget web page (click on "Budget Information" in the Quick Links menu).

  • 2023-2024 SCOPE Enrichment After School Program

    SCOPE Education Services is excited to announce that the After School Enrichment Program in place this school year will continue during the 2023-2024 school year. The program will be offered at each of the five elementary schools within the district (pending enrollment) and will take place on Monday-Friday from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM. The goal of the program is to provide engaging enrichment opportunities focused on Fine Arts and Crafts, Coding and Robotics, Sports, Fitness and Mindfulness, STEM inquiry-based science instruction; a Homework Center is also offered. Registration Information

  • Online Registration Dates for 2023–24 Kindergarten & UPK 

    All applications to register for Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) and Kindergarten for the 2023–24 school year will be processed online.

    Universal Pre-K

    The District offers a UPK program to all Great Neck School District residents at no cost. UPK Online Registration is currently open. To enroll, children must be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2023.  

     

    Kindergarten

    Kindergarten Online Registration will open on Jan. 17, 2023. All children who will attend public or private school kindergarten in Sept. 2023 must be registered. Any child who legally resides within the school district and will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2023 is eligible for kindergarten.

Superintendent Search

  • The Board of Education has partnered with District Wise Search Consultants to facilitate a nationwide search for the successor candidate to lead the District following the retirement of Dr. Teresa Prendergast, effective July 21, 2023. Updates will be shared throughout the process on the Superintendent Search web page

    GNPS/TV Current Programs

    Programs currently airing on Great Neck Public Schools Television (GNPS/TV) are North High School Opera, South Middle School Spotlight, and Focus on Education. GNPS/TV programming reflects the offerings of the Great Neck Public Schools and the achievements of its students and staff. Programs may be viewed within the incorporated villages of Great Neck on Optimum Channel 75 and on Verizon Fios Channel 32. Programs are also available on-demand, 24/7, on the GNPS/TV web page.
