SOCIAL STUDIES 8
In grade eight, the student considers American history from the post-Industrialization Era to the present, exploring America’s rise isolated nation to international world power. Emphasis is placed on multiple perspectives, cultural connection, critical thinking and expository writing. The course builds on and seeks to reinforce skills, concepts and content understanding introduced in the seventh grade program, particularly Constitutional foundations and law-related implications. It also provides a solid content base for 11th grade American history.
