A Letter to Parkville Kindergarten Families

    Dear Parkville Kindergarten Families,

I am thrilled to be joining the Parkville School teaching community as the kindergarten visual arts educator. For the past 17 years I have been fortunate enough to work for the Great Neck Public Schools as the art teacher at the John F.

Kennedy School. While there, I dedicated my instruction to inspiring students to explore their creative ideas through interactions with multiple types of media. This will continue at Parkville where my aim is to create a warm, positive, and safe art studio environment for your children. Some of my goals as your child’s art teacher this year are to encourage free expression, risk-taking, and pride in one’s creative efforts. Every child is uniquely different and so is his/her artwork, and therefore, it is worth celebrating!

My role as an educator is to support your child as a learner and individual; and to do so effectively, your active participation in their development and creative endeavors makes for an incredible partnership. With that said, please don’t hesitate to contact me at cmulligan@greatneck.k12.ny.us. I look forward to a colorful year with your children!
