• The technology curriculum is packed with learning that builds upon prior knowledge. By the 8th grade students have learned hand tools, power tools, problem solving techniques and STEMLAB safety. The extracurricular activities that are offered by the technology department take those skills to a more refined level. Programming is a major skill necessary in The Robotics Club. Hand tool usage and problem solving are key to being successful in the magnetic levitation car competition that The Mag Lev Club participates in. The Greenhouse Club allows students to explore our natural world and apply problem solving techniques to increase harvest/production. The Yearbook Photography club teaches students how to take a good photo using composition and lighting as key ingredients.

Students in all three grades of SMS are welcome to participate in our clubs. Please contact the advisors for further information.
