MAGLEV
-
Students learn the relevance of magnetism when it is used for transportation. Their goal is to design and build a car that will compete at the Cradle of Aviation, mid March of each school year, for the fastest time down a magnetized track. Schools from across the Island compete to have the fastest cars. There are multiple categories that students can enter and compete:
- Self propelled with a motor, propeller and battery pack
- Balloon powered vehicle
- Electrified track where cars have a motor and a propeller but power comes from feelers touching the sides of the electrified track.
- Gravity track where cars float down an inclined track under their own power.
- Futuristic Design
- Scale Model Design
