  • Students at Lakeville Elementary School have a variety of opportunities to engage in computer programming in hands-on experiences. Students learn coding and computational problem solving strategies while programming robots.  In addition, students are introduced to software programs that help kids refine their design, logic, and problem-solving abilities.

Dash & Dot Robots: Students learn fundamental coding concepts while completing programming challenges for Dash and Dot.

Lego Robots:  Students working with Mrs. Magilligan to build and program WeDo robots to investigate, explore and discover science concepts.  Upper elementary students program EV3 robots in challenges that promote STEM learning and design thinking.

Code & Go: Students in grade 1 build mazes, and then use coding cards to create a step-by-step path for Colby, the Programmable Robot Mouse.

Code.Org: Students solve grade appropriate challenges while collaborating with others.

ScratchJr: Students create their own interactive stories by snapping together programming blocks to make characters move, jump, dance, and sing.
