Mrs. Jessica Baylis
Mrs. Jessica Baylis earned an Associate of Arts (A.A) in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a Health Science concentration from SUNY Farmingdale in 2000. She went on to Syracuse University where she completed her Bachelor of Arts (B. A) in psychology with a minor in retailing. Upon graduating from Syracuse University in 2002, Mrs. Baylis worked for the World Trade Center Health Screening Program at Consolidated Edison. There, she coordinated the physical and mental health care follow-up of thousands of Con Ed workers post 9/11. However, Mrs. Baylis’s true calling is teaching and in 2006, she enrolled in an Advanced Certificate Post Baccalaureate Program in Adolescent Biology Education through CUNY Queens College. There, she completed her Masters of Science in Science Education (M.S.Ed) in 2009.
Mrs. Baylis began her career at Great Neck North High School teaching Regents Biology and various science electives in 2007. In 2011, she began teaching AP Environmental Science and has continued in that role for over a decade.
