The Great Neck Public Schools Food and Nutrition Department proudly
participates in the National School Lunch Program, providing nutritionally
balanced meals to students each school day. We believe that healthy meals help
children learn better, which is why we are committed to offering high-quality food
options to all our students.
Universal Free School Meals - 2025-2026 School Year
Starting in the 2025-2026 school year, New York State will provide free breakfast
and lunch to all public school students, thanks to a $340 million investment in
the state budget. This means that all students enrolled in GNPS will receive
healthy meals at no cost to families, with no application or action required.
However, families who are experiencing financial need or food insecurity are
encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced-Price Meals application. This
helps the district secure important State and Federal funding for programs and
services.
Note:
- Families on SNAP or certain Medicaid programs do not need to apply. You will receive a letter if you automatically qualify.
- Students only need to add money to their accounts for a la carte and some Kosher items.
A la Carte Prices for Boar’s Head sandwiches, Kosher pizza, chicken nuggets,
and bagel boxes:
- Pre-K & Elementary: $1.50
- Middle & High School: $1.85
Please visit the GNPS Food & Nutrition Services site for access to our digital monthly
menu and payment options to fund your accounts.
