BYOD Wireless Network Instructions

Connecting to the BYOD-Staff Network

1. Click on the WiFi symbol in the tray in the bottom right.
2. From the list of available networks, click on "BYOD-STAFF" and then click "Connect"
3. On the pop-up window, enter the following values in the drop downs:

EAP Method - PEAP
EAP Phase 2 Authentication - Automatic
Server CA Certificate - Do Not Check
Identify - GNPS Network Account User Name
Password - GNPS Password

Installing the Security Certificate

Go to "Settings" > "Security" > "Advanced settings" > "Encryption & credentials" > "Install a certificate" > "CA certificate" > "Install Anyway"

Find the "gnps-mwg.crt" file that you downloaded and click on it.

Note: You must have a pin code, password, or fingerprint lock setup on your device, otherwise it will not save the certificate.

Connecting to the BYOD-Staff Network

1. Click on the WiFi symbol in the top right, then click "Other Networks"
2. Select the "BYOD-STAFF" network
3. You will be prompted to a username and password. Enter your GNPS network account that you would use to sign into a computer.

• Locate the “gnps-mwg.crt” file that you just downloaded and open it.
• The app "Keychain Access" will open and ask for the username and password of the computer.  Enter the password and click "Modify Keychain".
• In the window that pops up, set the dropdown to "System" and click "Add"
• Locate “GNPS-MWG” in the System (not System Roots) keychain list and double-click it.
• Expand the "Trust" section and set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust".
• Close the window and enter your password again when prompted.

Connecting to the BYOD-Staff Network

1. Click on the WiFi symbol in the tray in the bottom right.

1. Click on the vertical dots in the top right corner, then click on "Settings" towards the bottom of the menu. 
2. Click "Privacy and Security"
3. Click "Security"
4. Click “Manage certificates”
5. Click "Manage Imported Certificates from Windows"
6. Click "Import"
7. Click “Next”
8. Click “Browse.”  In the drop down list, select “All Files” and locate the “gnps-mwg.crt” file that you just downloaded.  Click “Open.”  Click “Next.”
9. Click the radio button for “Place all certificates in the following store” then click “Browse.”  Select “Trusted Root Certification Authorities.”  Click “Next.”
10. Click “Finish”

Connecting to the BYOD-Staff Network

• Open Edge settings window from the three dots in the top right. In the menu that opens, click on "Settings" towards the bottom.
• Click "Privacy, search, and services"
• Click “Manage certificates”
• Click "Import"
• Click “Next”
• Click “Browse.”  In the drop down list, select “All Files” and locate the “gnps-mwg.crt” file that you just downloaded.  Click “Open.”  Click “Next.”
• Click the radio button for “Place all certificates in the following store” then click “Browse.”  Select “Trusted Root Certification Authorities.”  Click “Next.”
• Click “Finish”
