Happy Spring! Although we are in the “home stretch” to the school year, our students continue to be involved in many meaningful endeavors! Our 8th graders just enjoyed going to Broadway to see the blockbuster show Hamilton. Many of them are still singing the tunes! As a school, we recently worked on different service projects to bring joy to pediatric cancer patients, as well as parents in the Neonatal Intensive Care unit at Cohen’s Children Medical Center. These efforts were to celebrate World Youth Service Day on April 12th. As part of our No Place for Hate program, sponsored by the Anti-Defamation League, we are always exploring new ways for our students to cultivate kindness and empathy in our school, as well as our community at large.
As the end of year approaches, I encourage you to consult the “End of Year Calendar” which can be found on our school’s website. It contains a great deal of information regarding half days and bus schedules etc.
If you have not done so already, I would ask that you please visit (and LIKE) our Facebook page so that you may receive updates about the fantastic experiences SMS students are taking part in on a daily basis.
As always, I thank you for sending us such wonderful students to work with each day! They are always eager to try new things and it makes our SMS family come alive with excitement and wonder.
