Messages from our Assistant Principals

  • Dear Parents,

Welcome to South Middle School for the 2019-2020 school-year. I am both honored and grateful to be serving as one of your assistant principals. The Great Neck School District and the South Middle School community are incredible places filled with wonderful opportunities and inspirational people. I consider myself lucky to be a part of this family.

As I navigate through this website, I have discovered that it contains a wealth of information and should serve as a resource for everyone involved with South Middle School.

If you should see me at any school events, or around the community, do not hesitate to come up to me and say hello. Please feel free to contact me at any time and for any reason.

    With Gratitude,

    Leonard DiBiase

    Assistant Principal

  • It is with great pride that I welcome the entire SMS community to the start of a new and exciting year. As I reflect upon 2020, I continue to be amazed by the dedication of South Middle parents, students, and staff to facilitating the growth of our school. Through some of the most challenging times, the South Middle community has always found a way to persevere and support each other. The home/ school connections are a critical component for student success, and in my role as Assistant Principal, I hope to continue to make these connections even stronger. The incredible faculty and staff of South Middle is committed to fostering your child’s social, emotional, and academic growth and to empowering them with the skills and opportunities to be the leaders of tomorrow. The middle-school years are an exciting time when children embark on a new journey into the world of learning. I look forward to collaborating with Dr. Cartolano, Mr. DiBiase, the South Middle faculty and staff, and you to improve our school environment. Together, we will look for exciting, innovative ways to create a positive school culture for all especially during these uncertain times. I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

    With gratitude,

    Ryan Nadherny,

    Assistant Principal
