August 2023
Dear Grade 6 Students, New Students, and Parents/Guardians:
Welcome to North Middle School! It is a pleasure to greet you as we are about to embark on another school year. For you, the beginning of September marks the start of a new and exciting adventure – the beginning of middle school!
In order to ensure that all of our students are well acclimated and feel comfortable and at home in North Middle, we have scheduled a STUDENT ORIENTATION for all new students on Wednesday, August 30th. This orientation, which we are calling Bagels and Locks, will begin promptly at 10:30 AM. Please make sure your child arrives no later than 10:25 AM to ensure he or she does not feel rushed and is as comfortable as possible. The schedule will be as follows:
STUDENTS ONLY - REPORT DIRECTLY TO CAFETERIA
10:30 - 10:45:
Cafeteria: Bagels and Announcements
10:45 - 11:30:
I. Locks/Lockers in Homerooms (HR assignments will be sent home before Aug. 30)
II. Scavenger Hunt (Conducted by 6th grade teachers, NMS Counseling Center)
Drop Off/Pick Up: As this is a STUDENT ONLY ORIENTATION, we would ask that you please drop off your child at the designated area (by LAST NAME) and proceed to the Parkwood Parking Lot. Students will be dismissed by 11:30, at which time you are asked to pick them up in the same location they were dropped off.
