Children grow and change in many different ways. The school psychologists are available to help parents, teachers, and children better understand and problem solve situations that arise. The psychologists can provide consultation, intervention strategies, and assessments to address social, emotional and educational needs.
- Consultation involves parents and teachers.
- Interventions may include behavioral strategies, positive reinforcement plans or counseling support.
- Assessments evaluate special education needs (significant cognitive, learning or emotional difficulties).
In addition to speaking to your child’s classroom teacher, the school psychologists can serve as another resource for discussing questions about your child’s development, learning, and social skills. If your child receives special education services, Ms. Gross or Ms. Braverman serve as the case manager of your child’s program. Questions about your child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) or the Committee on Special Education (CSE) can be directed to Ms. Gross or Ms. DiFranco.
