Welcome From Our Principal Kathleen Murray
Dear Parkville Families and Friends,
It is my heartfelt pleasure to welcome you to the Parkville School. As your Principal I accept the challenge and commitment to your children’s social, emotional, and educational growth.
Four years ago I visited the Parkville School for the first time and was touched by the warmth and energy that filled the classrooms and hallways. I observed happy children experiencing a myriad of engaging activities. The direction and guidance of gentle, nurturing, and talented teachers and staff enhanced these experiences. Immediately, I felt that the Parkville School was a beautiful place where children would learn and grow. Even then it was my hope that one day, I would join the Parkville Community, and here I am! I am thrilled to collaborate with our families, students, teachers, and staff. I am committed to continuing and expanding the great work that has been established.
Preschool and kindergarten years are the gateways to a long and exciting educational journey for young learners. It is a time to develop a love for learning through play, exploration, and interaction with peers. Our students enter our doors filled with wonder, questions, excitement, and awe-inspiring energy. Together as parents, guardians, and educators, we will nurture and support their burgeoning understanding of the world.
At the Parkville School, our exceptional teachers and staff are dedicated to providing the very best balance of academic rigor and play. We are sensitive to and celebrate the unique qualities of each child; we foster innate curiosity, and believe that all students can learn. We provide a safe and joyful environment, one in which all children can take risks and develop self-confidence.
The Parkville School is fortunate to have a dynamic and involved Parent Teacher Organization. I am hopeful that participation will grow, and together we will ensure that the needs of all of our students are met. As parents and guardians, you are an integral part of your children’s education.
“Every child deserves a champion; an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.”
Rita F. Pierson
