Children grow and learn in many different ways. The school psychologists are available to help parents, teachers, and children to better understand and problem-solve situations that arise. They can provide a variety of services to address your child’s social, emotional, and educational needs. These services include:

    · Consultation. The psychologists will work with parents, teachers, and service providers to help your child attain success in school

    · Intervention. The psychologists may provide counseling support, positive reinforcement plans, and behavior strategies for both home and school.

    · Assessment. The psychologists are knowledgeable in a wide variety of assessment tools to evaluate cognitive, academic, and social-emotional skills.

In addition to working with school staff, the school psychologists can serve as a resource to parents; we are happy to meet with you to discuss any questions or concerns that you may have about your child’s development, behavior, academic progress, and social skills.

If your child receives special education services, Dr. Miller is the case manager for your child’s program. Questions pertaining to the Individualized Education Program (IEP) or the Committee on Special Education (CSE) can be directed to her. Parents of preschool children can contact Dr. Gootman if they would like their child evaluated through the Committee on Preschool Special Education.

Please feel free to contact Dr. Gootman or Dr. Miller for an appointment. Both Dr. Gootman and Dr. Miller look forward to working with you and your child(ren).
