  • The Family and Consumer Sciences Program:

The focus of the Family and Consumer Science program is to help students build strong relationships, address modern family challenges and responsibilities, prepare for 21st century careers and achieve and maintain physical and emotional well-being. These programs are proactive as they address community connections, career exploration, self-advocating, transferable workplace and independent living skills, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) through hands-on cooperative learning of the whole child, and promote a love of learning and the ability to get along with others.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, adaptability is imperative, and in Family and Consumer Sciences Education, adaptability is our specialty. FACS has always focused on teaching students practical and transferable workplace skills: skills for life.

Assignments will be designed with a succession of skills, so that they are scaffolded and supported, but do not require use of shared supplies and can be completed during the existing social distancing guidelines.
