On Friday, the Boys and Girls Fencing Teams made history. The Girls Team captured their third consecutive County Championship and fourth in five years. Tremendous performances were put in from seniors Connie Too, Gina Lee, Diana Chu, and Josephine Chan.
The Boys Team not only won their Nassau County Championship, but they did it in what could only be described as the most epic comeback in a decade of fencing. Down 6 to 10, the boys stormed back to win 8 of the last 10 matches. They were sparked by wins from senior David Wang, sophomore Wilmund Wu, and junior Sam Lurvey. The final match was won by sophomore Drew Kim who clinched the winning match with a score of 5 – 0.
Congratulations Rebels and thank you for an amazing season.
