2019 Jump-a-Thon

  • Our 3rd Annual Jump-a-Thon was held on Friday, November 1st. Students and teachers showed off their jumping skills to help send qualifying Baker students to the GNPS Summer Program. Thanks to all!

Ride For Life

    Fourth and fifth graders are learning about the importance of overcoming obstacles from Mr. Pendergast. Mr. Pendergast has been fighting ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, for many years. This is his 8th year returning to Baker to teach students about the Ride for Life.  He is an inspirational individual who is helping to raise awareness for the ALS cause.

Music Happenings

    Fourth grade students work together to write rhythm patterns on the SMARTBoard. Students were asked to use known rhythmic elements (quarter note, paired eighth notes, quarter rest and half note) to create as many four-beat patterns as possible.

    Fifth grade students in Ms. Alexandrou's class perform their compositions on xylophones, Boomwhackers and the keyboard. Students used rhythmic and melodic concepts learned in fourth grade to write their own musical pieces. Students will continue to revise, perform and conduct their compositions in vocal music during the coming months.

Baker Rock Garden

    Look for the new inspirational rock display as you approach the Baker entrance!  Our Baker Family designed these rocks with motivational messages during our first Baker Pride Day.

3D Crayon Containers

    Students in third grade are designing and creating 3D printed crayon containers to donate to St. Mary's Children's Hospital.  Last year, grade three students donated to Cohen Children's Medical Center.  The containers are delivered with crayons donated by our PTO!

Baker Highlights


    All Are Welcome book cover

    This year Baker will read five shared books across the grade levels connected to our Habits for Life. Dr. Grimaldi and Dr. Sweet read the first book, All Are Welcome, during the morning announcements to initiate "Baker Reads". 



    Mr. Lynch and Mrs. Cascino's class tracking the movement of the sun! Students were making observations and predictions about how the sun impacts shadows, and how they will change as the day moves on.
