Dear GNPS Community,

Happy New Year to all! As we begin the 2026-27 school year, I would like to take a moment to share some of the many positive observations I have had during our opening days. I have truly enjoyed visiting each of our school buildings and seeing our school communities come back to life. Throughout my visits, it has been wonderful to see our students settling into their routines, reconnecting with friends and classmates, and being welcomed by our dedicated and enthusiastic teachers, staff and administrators. Classrooms were filled with engaging lessons, meaningful activities and opportunities for students to get to know one another. Perhaps most encouraging were the smiles, laughter and positive energy that filled our schools as students began a new year, strengthened existing friendships and created new, positive relationships. It was a terrific start to what I am confident will be another successful school year.

Thank you again for your partnership in making this opening week such a special one throughout the Great Neck community. We are excited to wrap up a wonderful first week of the school year. Please enjoy a short video highlighting some “sights and sounds” as week one draws to a close.
