Dear GNPS Community,

I am pleased to announce that the Board of Education, at their January 14, 2026 Board meeting, appointed Anthony Acosta-Brandi as the district’s new Supervisor of Transportation, effective February 16, 2026. 

Mr. Acosta-Brandi has over 30 years of experience working at WE Transportation, which is our district’s transportation provider. He joined the company as a driver in 1993 and was promoted to Terminal Manager in 2004. In 2021, he became the Operations Manager for the WE Transportation office in Garden City Park. 

Mr. Acosta-Brandi has worked in partnership with the district for years and is very familiar with our students, our families, and the schools our district serves. He quickly learned the intricacies of the Great Neck Public School district. Additionally, he is well versed in NYS Transportation regulations with regard to bus routes, stop locations, and routing requirements. 

With his transportation expertise, Mr. Acosta-Brandi will bring a unique perspective and understanding to the role of Supervisor of Transportation. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Acosta-Brandi to the Great Neck Public Schools family.
