Dear GNPS Community, 

It is with mixed emotions that I share that at last night’s Board of Education meeting, the Board accepted the resignation of Ms. Jennifer Kirby, Director of Human Resources, for the purposes of retirement, effective October 17, 2026. 

Ms. Kirby joined our district in 2002 as Assistant Business Manager for Food & Nutrition, with additional responsibilities as Personnel Administrator. In 2005, she became Human Resources Administrator, and was then appointed Director of Human Resources in 2012. 

The District has already begun the search for an exemplary new leader to fill this important role. 

I am sure you will join the Board of Education and me in thanking Ms. Kirby for her outstanding service to the Great Neck Public Schools community. She will surely be missed by staff, trustees, and parents alike. We are grateful for her experience and dedication throughout her 24 years in the district, and wish her all the very best in retirement and the next chapter of her life.
