At their October 8 meeting, the GNPS Board of Education recognized 17 fifth-grade students from John F. Kennedy Elementary School for their commitment to serving their school community.

JFK Principal Ron Gimondo introduced each fifth-grader who will serve as a Community Service Leader for the 2024-25 school year: Etai Mozer, Luke Somer, Jennifer (Jenny) Sanchez Ramirez, Daniella Velasquez, Derick Chen, Noah Harooni, Leonardo Bermudez, Stephanie Noghreh, Emerson Gordon, Joshua Baharestani, Ayelet Harris, Jayden Shahverdi, Shota Fukuoka, Julia Tobias, Lucas Hakimian, Peter Lee, and Afnad Noor.

Students were selected based on their leadership skills and dedication to the school community. They will work closely with faculty members and their fellow students to implement various service projects, including food drives, art murals, and promoting districtwide and school-based events.

JFK's Community Service Leaders are mentored by faculty advisors Lisa Keen, Perri Taxin, and Assistant Principal Ai-Hui Chang, who volunteer their time to meet with students, nurture their ideas, encourage collaboration, and ensure the success of each service project
