At a public meeting on August 29, the Great Neck Public Schools Board of Education presented performance commendations to five members of the Village of Lake Success Police Department. The Board recognized Sgt. Thomas Alter, PO Michael Caputo, PO Gianpaolo Lisena, PO Michael Palma, and Dispatcher Babette Riggs for their continued partnership for the betterment of the Great Neck Public Schools community.
“I can’t emphatically describe enough the importance of our partnership with the Lake Success Police Department and the other law enforcement agencies that serve our district,” praised Superintendent Dr. Kenneth R. Bossert. “They help us in so many ways to keep our buildings, our facilities, and most importantly, our students safe on a daily basis.”
During the presentation, Lakeville Elementary School Principal Emily Zucal shared a few of the many ways the Lake Success Police Department works hand-in-hand with her school, citing the visibility of uniformed officers during student arrival and dismissal, their presence at emergency drills, responsiveness to situations regarding student safety, and hospitality during school evacuation drills when students and staff are relocated to the Lake Success Police Department Headquarters.
Additionally, on behalf of the Board of Education and District Administration, Dr. Bossert presented a certificate of commendation to the district’s Security Supervisor, William Castoro. Mr. Castoro is recognized as an integral part of the district’s daily operations and applauded for his community outreach and relationships with law enforcement that support the safety, health, and welfare of all students and staff.
