Renee Read, a special education teacher at Saddle Rock Elementary School, has been honored as a recipient of the 2025 NASTAR Award. This award, which recognizes individuals for innovation, leadership, and support of technology initiatives in their school district, was presented at the seventh annual Nassau Association of School Technologists (NASTECH) NASTAR Celebration on June 12.

Ms. Read was nominated for the award by Dr. Justin Lander, District Technology Director, through the Nassau BOCES NASTECH Program for her exceptional work leveraging instructional technology to provide personalized accommodations, scaffold lessons and tailor instruction to meet each student’s unique learning needs.

Nassau BOCES NASTECH Service created the Nassau Association of School Technologists Award Recipient (NASTAR) awards to honor individuals for innovation, leadership, and support of technology initiatives in their school district.
