At the November 12 Board of Education meeting, John F. Kennedy and Saddle Rock elementary schools were celebrated for earning the title of Apple Distinguished Schools for the 2025-28 program term. This designation reflects our schools’ commitment to continuous innovation in education and using Apple products to inspire, imagine, and impact teaching and learning.

JFK Principal Mr. Gimondo and Saddle Rock Principal Ms. Bradley congratulated their faculty, staff, students and families on this recognition. They spoke about the creative learning activities taking place in classrooms every day, as well as their schools' commitment to using technology responsibly and teaching about digital citizenship.

GNPS Technology Director Dr. Lander highlighted the work of the schools' technology staff developers—Ms. Goldstein at JFK, and Mr. Reilly and Ms. Rio at Saddle Rock—who ensure that their colleagues and students have access to the devices, apps, and support that make innovative instruction a reality. He also praised GNPS/TV director Mr. Zahn, who created the application videos that demonstrate why JFK and Saddle Rock are so worthy of this honor.

JFK and Saddle Rock join E.M. Baker Elementary School, which was announced as an Apple Distinguished School last year. To learn more about our Apple Distinguished Schools and watch the application videos, visit www.greatneck.k12.ny.us/apple-distinguished-schools.
