The Great Neck Public Schools Adult Learning Center (ALC) hosted its annual Thanksgiving celebration on Nov. 18. During this holiday event, ALC teachers, staff, and students are joined by district administrators and Board of Education trustees to share a delicious meal and express their gratitude for the learning opportunities provided through this unique program. ALC faculty serve the components of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to their students, who represent many different countries and diverse cultures from around the world. The celebration also features speakers who share their personal experiences, with a focus on community and education. Leading up to the Thanksgiving celebration, ALC student representatives hosted a food drive to benefit the St. Aloysius Interfaith Food Pantry in Great Neck to support neighbors in need this holiday season.
