Yearbook photos of three high school students who won National Merit Corporate Sponsored Scholarships

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has announced three seniors from the Great Neck Public Schools as 2026 National Merit Corporate Scholarship winners. Recipients of this prestigious award are Harrison Yu from North High School, and Khloe Chong and Sarah Joseph from South High School.

Approximately 700 distinguished high school seniors nationwide have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards financed by about 115 corporations, company foundations, and other business organizations. Also included in this category are awards supported by several foundations and individual donors who have established endowments with NMSC.

Harrison Yu won the National Merit Estee and Joseph Lauder Scholarship, Khloe Chong won the National Merit Sony Electronics Inc. Scholarship, and Sarah Joseph won the National Merit Broadridge Scholarship.

Scholars were selected from students who advanced to the Finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition and met criteria of their scholarship sponsors. Corporate sponsors provide National Merit Scholarships for Finalists who are children of their employees, who are residents of communities the company serves, or who plan to pursue college majors or careers the sponsor wishes to encourage. Recipients can use their awards at any regionally accredited U.S. college or university of their choice.

This is the first announcement of winners by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) for 2026. Winners of National Merit $2,500 Scholarships and National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarships will be announced from May through July. This year, the NMSC has recognized 69 Commended Students, 35 Semifinalists, and 34 Finalists from the Great Neck Public Schools.
