2017 Accolades
GNPS/TV Wins National Awards
Great Neck Public Schools Television (GNPS/TV) is the proud recipient of two national awards through the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) 2017 Hometown Media Awards.
The Hometown Media Awards is a national awards program that recognizes outstanding community media and local cable programs that are distributed on Public, Educational, and Governmental access cable television channels. Nearly one thousand entries are submitted each year.
South High School’s Opera Production Carmen won Best Local Performance. Additionally, “Spaghetti Dinner,” a short film by GNPS/TV faculty and students won Best Original Drama/Comedy. The film promotes a South Middle School fundraiser of the same name and is an homage to classic Italian-American cinema.
