GNPS/TV Wins National & International Awards
Great Neck Public Schools Television (GNPS/TV) is the proud recipient of three national awards through the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) 2020 Hometown Media Awards and an international award through the 41st annual Telly Awards.
2020 Hometown Media Awards
The Hometown Media Awards is a national awards program that recognizes outstanding community media and local cable programs that are distributed on Public, Educational, and Governmental access cable television channels. Nearly one thousand entries are submitted each year.
GNPS/TV was awarded the top prize in Overall Excellence in Educational Access, the third of four times it has done so (2016, 2018, 2024). Additionally, two individual productions by GNPS/TV received awards. South Middle School’s Thank A Veteran Program won Best Educational Activity and District Faculty Recital won Best Local Performance.
41st Annual Telly Awards
The Telly Awards is an international program that honors excellence in video and television across a variety of platforms. “FilmMaker,” a short, autobiographical film by GNPS/TV Independent Study student Derek Delson, won a Gold Telly.
