2021 Accolades
GNPS/TV Wins National & International Awards

Great Neck Public Schools Television (GNPS/TV) is the proud recipient of three national awards through the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) 2021 Hometown Media Awards and four international awards through the 42nd annual Telly Awards.
2021 Hometown Media Awards
The Hometown Media Awards is a national awards program that recognizes outstanding community media and local cable programs that are distributed on Public, Educational, and Governmental access cable television channels. Nearly one thousand entries are submitted each year.
GNPS/TV received the Best Music Video Award for its 2020 Holiday Music Video, featuring staff and students from North and South Middle School. The Best Web Based Programs Award went to the South High School Virtual Commencement, which was released to the community in lieu of a graduation ceremony in June 2020. Best Public Service Announcement went to “No One is a Virus,” created by student Sophia Leong in GNPS/TV’s Independent Study Program.
42nd Annual Telly Awards
The Telly Awards is an international program that honors excellence in video and television across a variety of platforms. GNPS/TV received three Silver, and one Bronze award in the Television-Student area of competition.
Silver Telly Awards went to “Doubt,” a short-film by Independent Study student Ashley Wu; the broadcast of Die Fledermaus, the 2019 South High School Opera; and the broadcast of South High School’s Cultural Heritage Event (recorded in December 2019).
A Bronze Telly went to the video covering Great Neck’s participation in the 2019 FIRST Lego League Robotics Competition, held in Mineola.
