GNPS/TV Wins National & International Awards

Great Neck Public Schools Television (GNPS/TV) is the proud recipient of three national awards through the Alliance for Community Media (ACM) 2022 Hometown Media Awards and three international awards through the 43rd annual Telly Awards.
2022 Hometown Media Awards
The Hometown Media Awards is a national awards program that recognizes outstanding community media and local cable programs that are distributed on Public, Educational, and Governmental access cable television channels. Nearly one thousand entries are submitted each year.
GNPS/TV was awarded top prize in the Educational Profile category for a Board of Education video recognizing the efforts and activities of district elementary schools during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Additionally, GNPS/TV won in the Educational Activities category for coverage of the 2021 South High School Graduation which took place at Hofstra University. The third win was in the Local Performances Category for the broadcast of North High School’s 2021 Winter Concert.
43rd Annual Telly Awards
The Telly Awards is an international program that honors excellence in video and television across a variety of platforms. GNPS/TV received one Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze award in the Television-Student area of competition. The Silver Telly went to the aforementioned Board of Education video and the Bronze Telly went to the GNPS/TV broadcast of the 2021 North High School Graduation which took place at Hofstra University.
GNPS/TV collaborated with Theatre South in the spring of 2021 to produce A Chorus Line: Virtual Edition. Students, under the constraints of social distancing protocols, filmed and submitted videos of them performing their roles, which were meticulously assembled and edited into a dynamic end product. A behind-the-scenes look at the making of A Chorus Line received the Gold Telly.
