- On Friday, August 7, Governor Cuomo announced schools in NYS will reopen.
- Schools in a region can remain open if the region’s daily infection rate remains below 5 percent, or lower, using a 14-day average since unPAUSE was lifted.
- Schools will close if the regional infection rate rises above 9 percent, using a 7-day average, after August 1.
- If a region surpasses 9% before school starts, Gov. Cuomo will reverse that order. If it passes 9% after schools open, he will order school buildings closed in that region.
Reopening the Great Neck Public Schools
- More than 100 individuals served on the GNPS School Reopening Advisory Committee. Representation included administrators, faculty, staff, parents/guardians, medical professionals, law enforcement and Board of Education members.
- As required by the Governor’s Office, the plan outlines considerations for safe and effective delivery of instruction in three scenarios: in-school instruction, a hybrid model and remote instruction.
- Subcommittees include all major areas of reopening planning including health and safety, facilities operations, transportation and instruction.
- The District plan to reopen schools was submitted to the State Education Department and the NYS Department of Health on July 31.
- School bus staff shall perform a self-health assessment for symptoms of COVID-19 before arriving to work.
- School bus drivers and monitors must wear face masks along with optional face shield. Drivers and monitors who have direct physical contact with a student must wear gloves.
- Students are required to wear masks while boarding, riding and exiting the bus.
- Masks will be supplied by the driver should a student arrive at the bus without one.
- Parents are encouraged to put masks on elementary children before they board the bus.
- Students and staff are encouraged to wash/sanitize hands before boarding the bus.
- Parents are required to ensure their child(ren) are not experiencing any signs of illness and do not have a fever of 100.0 degrees F or more prior to boarding the bus.
- For elementary routes, the youngest students should be seated near the front of the bus.
- For secondary schools, students who board the bus first should be seated at the rear of the bus. The bus will be filled from the back to the front.
- When students embark and disembark the bus, social distancing protocols are to be followed. Siblings are encouraged to sit together.
- For all levels, students at the front of the bus will disembark first, one seat at a time.
- The District will reduce capacity on all public, private and special needs school bus routes by using adult vehicle capacity. Elementary students will sit maximum two students on a school bus bench.
- School bus windows will be kept open as much as possible while the bus is in operation to increase air flow and circulation.
- All high contact surfaces including handrails, seat belt and buckle, and seats will be sanitized after every morning and afternoon route.
- Cleaning crews will perform a more thorough task of disinfecting and sanitizing school buses including the use of electrostatic cleaning.
- Cabin air filters will be frequently changed.
- From March through June, our dedicated Food and Nutrition team members prepared, packaged, and distributed breakfasts and lunches for families within our community. Thank You!
- Food service employees will receive enhanced safety training and all staff will wear disposable aprons, masks and gloves with frequent, required hand washing.
- Food counters and utensils are cleaned and sanitized frequently.
- Limited meal options with service models focused on safety.
- Elementary students will eat lunch in classrooms or outdoors (weather permitting.) Lunch will be delivered to each classroom.
- Students may bring lunch from home. Elementary students may pre-order lunch from the cafeteria.
- Food Services (continued)
- Reinforcing hand hygiene and no sharing of food or utensils.
- No visitors or outside vendors will be allowed in school. No food deliveries or lunch drop offs.
- Secondary cafeterias will employ a cashless and touchless system. Students will be given an ID card to swipe rather than having to punch a number in a keypad.
- Middle and high school students will eat in the cafeteria or other locations following social distancing protocols both while on the line and when seated. Students will use contact-less payments via their identification cards only.
- NO PIN numbers or cash will be accepted from students or staff members at the terminals.
- A new online ordering system, Meals Plus/Linq Solutions, will be implemented for all grades. A digital interactive menu will allow parents to view the monthly menu, nutritional information and allergens in multiple languages.
- This system will allow parents to place their lunch orders a week at a time. It is integrated with our new menu system and our payment system.
- This same system will also allow students on the secondary level to place their weekly meal orders.
- Signage is posted throughout the school regarding public health protections against COVID-19. These visual cues support our three W’s.
- The Three W’s:
- Wear Masks
- Wash Hands
- Watch Distance
- Every classroom will be designed with 6 feet of space and distance between each student.
- Utilize outdoor spaces when possible. Low rise bleachers have been ordered for outdoor seating.
- Disposable wipes and spray bottle cleaners will be provided to faculty and staff so that commonly used surfaces can be wiped down before and/or after use.
- SED approved poly-carbonate barriers will be used in areas where face-to-face interactions may frequently occur without adherence to social distancing. (i.e.: special education small classes)
- According to SED regulations, temporary pop-up tents (canopies) without walls may not exceed 400GSF. This size structure is too small, will not ensure social distancing requirements and cannot be used for instruction.
- Drinking fountains will not be available for use. Students and staff may bring their own water bottles to school. Bottle filling stations are available districtwide.
- Use of hand sanitizer stations placed strategically throughout the buildings: in classrooms, in hallways, cafeterias and in all workspaces.
- Use of visual aids to cue appropriate social distancing.
- Signage and visual cues around the school buildings to promote social distancing, respiratory and hand hygiene.
- Bathrooms will be sanitized multiple times during the school day.
Cleaning & Disinfecting
- Revise cleaning and sanitizing shifts; create and maintain cleaning schedules.
- Day shift - clean/sanitize bathrooms, frequently touched surfaces during the day, empty trash, assist at mealtimes.
- Early evening shifts - clean, disinfect and sanitize all building spaces.
- Late evening shift will disinfect spaces accordingly.
- Additional staff will be hired for elementary schools.
- According to SED, ion generators, or UV light technology is not permitted.
- Sanitizing Equipment and Cleaning Products
- Electro-static misting equipment for each school
- Use of Bio-Protect Anti-Microbial Technology Surface Protection Systems is anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-viral. Will be applied to hard surfaces- desks, high contact surfaces.

- The District works closely with BBS, our architect and engineering firm to address all aspects of District operations.
- Open classroom windows to circulate fresh air.
- Fresh air dampers on ALL ventilation equipment will be completely opened manually to ensure optimal amount of outside air is introduced to a space.
- Every occupied space in our buildings has filtered air being introduced, both fresh air and re-circulated air.
- Air handling and ventilation units are set for maximum outside air flow.
- Air conditioners are set on exhaust settings.
- Use of MERV-8 air filters in classroom unit ventilators. MERV-13 air filters will be installed in units where the age/condition of equipment allows and where appropriate air conditioning balance levels can be maintained.
- MERV-13 filters will be installed in all air handling units when possible. New rooftop units replaced during the capital bond projects will have MERV-13 air filters.
- More frequent filter replacement in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.
- The District purchased 70 air purification systems to be strategically installed throughout the District based on recommendations of Health & Safety Advisory Committee.
- Nurses Offices will be outfitted with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) air purifiers and MERV-rated filters.
- Face masks must fully cover both the nose and mouth at all times. A mask will be provided if forgotten.
- Staff will enter and exit buildings through multiple entry/exit points (with card readers.)
- Schools will arrange for staggered arrival and/or departure times.
- Suspend elementary early morning student drop off. Elementary doors would open no earlier than 8:45am.
- In person field trips, assemblies, parent-teacher conferences, Open House and large group meetings are suspended until further notice.
- Most stairways will be one directional. Corridors will either be two directional with appropriate signage to ensure social distancing or one directional.
- Only essential personnel will be allowed entry into buildings.
- Parents and third party vendors will not be permitted to drop off lunch for their child at school.
- With the exception of the SCOPE after school child-care program, use of facilities by outside groups is restricted.
- Student lockers and cubbies will not be used in order to ensure compliance with social distancing protocols.
- Fire/evacuation drills and (modified) lockdown drills are required as per NYS Education Law.
- Reduce the number of multiple bathrooms being open during the day. Only one student permitted in the restroom at a time. Bathrooms will be sanitized multiple times during the school day.
- No “community” or shared supplies will be available. Parents must label all personal belongings.
- Student desks will be in rows, facing forward direction.
- The elementary after-school child-care SCOPE Program will be offered.
- Secondary students will be dismissed at the end of the day for the first two weeks of school. No late buses through September 18.
- Middle and high school athletics will follow guidelines aligned to New York State Public High School Athletic Association Section 8 athletics.
- Secondary level extra-curricular activities for all students will begin on or about September 21.
- For the first three weeks of school, secondary level extra help will only be offered virtually.

Meeting with Teachers
- District administrators will meet with teachers on August 20.
- Elementary teachers meeting will take place at 10:30am
- Middle school teachers meeting at 12:30pm

- Building principals will also schedule separate faculty meetings.
Health and Safety
Daily Health Screening and Temperature Checks
- Daily temperature screenings of all students and staff, along with daily health questionnaire for faculty and staff.
- Parents must take their child’s temperature and review for COVID-19 symptoms before sending their child to the bus stop or before coming to school.
- Upon arrival to school, student and staff temperatures will be checked with a touchless infrared thermometer.
- No student or staff member with a temperature of 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit or more will be admitted to school.
- Staff or students with a temperature, signs of illness and/or a positive response to the health questionnaire will be escorted directly to the quarantine room.
Face Masks, Precautions and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Students and staff will be required to wear face masks.
- Mask breaks will be provided throughout the day.
- Hand and Respiratory Hygiene
- 6 feet social distancing whenever possible
- Masks are required as a simple barrier to help prevent respiratory droplets from traveling into the air and onto other people when the person wearing the mask coughs, sneezes, talks, or raises their voice. Masks must fit snuggly and fully cover both the NOSE and MOUTH at all times.
- Supervised mask breaks will be permitted: during lunch, outside with social distancing or in large open cafeteria and gym spaces. If during class, a student may stand in the hallway within a teacher’s line of vision.
- Acceptable face masks include:
- Disposable surgical masks
- Form-fitting cloth masks with two layers of densely woven material. Reusable face masks should be cleaned and disinfected after each use.
- A surgical N95 mask (also referred as a medical respirator) is recommended only for use by healthcare personnel
- The CDC does not recommendusing masks if they have a one-way valve or vent. These masks do not prevent spreading the virus to others.
- A face shield in lieu of a mask is NOT permitted. Wearing a face shield in addition to a mask is acceptable.
- Neck gators and bandanas are NOT permitted.
COVID-19 Protocols and Safety
- Training will be provided for all employees before the first day of school regarding:
- Identifying symptoms of COVID-19
- Proper use of face covering
- Hand hygiene
- Respiratory Hygiene/Cough Etiquette
Symptoms of COVID-19
- The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to the regular seasonal influenza and include fever, coughing, and shortness of breath.
- Some have reported additional symptoms, such as a runny nose, sore throat, nausea, lethargy, lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of smell and/or taste.
- If your child is exhibiting any symptoms such as those listed above, please keep your child home from school and contact your child’s healthcare provider.
- Referral of diagnostic testing for students and staff will occur according to the NYS DOH Guidance.

Confirmed COVID-19 Case Protocol
- Contact Tracing
- The District will work cooperatively with the local health department to identify employees and/or students that may have had contact with the individual within 48 hours.
- Determine if the employee and/or student had close contact (within 6 feet) for 10 minutes or more without a mask.
- District COVID Representative/Safety Coordinator (Dr. Hickey) will contact Superintendent and Department of Health.
- Inform employees of their possible exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace.
- Prepare and distribute letter to parents notifying that their child may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus.
- At the elementary level, the class will transition from in-person to remote instruction for a period of 14 calendar days.
- At the secondary level, we will work with the Department of Health to determine close or proximate contact, and quarantine as required.
- Confidentiality must be maintained as required by federal and state law and regulations.
- Responsible parties must cooperate with all state and local health department requirements such as contact tracing, isolation and quarantine rules.
- Close off areas used by the person who is sick.
- Clean and disinfect the classroom(s) or office space.
- Clean all areas used by the person who is sick, such as bathrooms, common areas, shared electronic equipment, etc.
Close Contact versus Proximate Contact
- Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet of a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 for a prolonged period of time (10 minutes or more).
- Proximate contact is defined as being in the same enclosed environment such as a classroom, office, or gatherings but greater than 6 feet from a person displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Quarantine versus Isolation
- Quarantine is used to keep someone who might have beenexposed to COVID-19 away from others. Quarantine helps prevent spread of disease that can occur before a person knows they are sick or if they are infected with the virus without feeling symptoms. People in quarantine should stay home, separate themselves from others, monitor their health, and follow directions from their state or local health department. The quarantine period is 14 days from the date of last contact.
- Isolationis used to separate people infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, from people who are not infected. People who are in isolation should stay home until it’s safe for them to be around others. The isolation period for COVID-19 is at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms (or test date if asymptomatic) and 72 hours fever free (without fever reducing medication) and other symptoms are improving.
Contacts of a Close or Proximate Contact of a Confirmed or Suspected Case of COVID-19
- As Per DOH Policy Guidance
- Person A is diagnosed with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19.
- If Person B had contact (close or proximate) with Person A, Person B would be subject to mandatory quarantine (if close contact) or precautionary quarantine (if proximate contact).
- Any individual (Person C) who is a contact of Person B (i.e. spouse, children, coworkers, etc.) is considered a “contact of a contact”.
- Person C is not at risk for infection and would not be subject to quarantine unless Person B had or developed symptoms, or tested positive for the virus causing COVID-19.
“What If” Scenarios
- What if a family member of a student tests positive?
The household is quarantined. Elementary student goes on remote home instruction.
- What if a family member of a staff member tests positive?
The staff member’s household is quarantined.
- What if a student in my child’s class tests positive?
At the elementary level, the class quarantines for 14 calendar days. Class switches to remote instruction. At the secondary level, we will work with the Department of Health to determine close or proximate contact, and quarantine as required.
- What if a sibling of a student in my child’s class tests positive?
Everyone in the student’s family is quarantined. The student (and any siblings) goes on remote home instruction.
- What if the spouse of my child’s teacher tests positive?
The teacher is quarantined. A substitute is assigned to the class.
- What if a student who rides a bus has a household member who tests positive?
The District will work with the DOH to determine close or proximate contact, and quarantine as required.
- How long is a quarantine?
Fourteen (14) calendar days.
- Students and/or staff must have clearance from health care provider to return to school.
Return to School
- If tested positive for COVID-19, Nassau County DOH will monitor and require the individual to isolate for at least 10 calendar days and be symptom free for 72 hours with no fever and no medication to suppress fever.
NYS Travel Advisory
- An Executive Order by Gov. Cuomo requires individuals returning from travel to select States or countries to self-quarantine at home for 14 days.
- The restricted list includes states with a positive test rate higher than 10%, or 10 per 100,000 residents, over a seven-day rolling average.
- We expect all staff, students, and families to abide by these requirements for the health and safety of our school community.
Social and Emotional Well Being
- As school begins, we are offering thematic parent meetings and parent training sessions via Zoom with topics related to preparing students for new school safety guidelines or coping with the anxiety of returning to school.
- Updating Great Neck Public Schools Crisis Resource Guide with resources on Back to School adjustment, emotional support and medical/basic needs.
- Mental Health staff will be sharing resources with teachers and support staff during Superintendent’s Conference Day and/or Faculty Meetings to help teachers respond to students’ concerns and support conversations as they naturally unfold throughout the curriculum.
- Social and Emotional Well Being (continued)
- Mental Health staff will be sharing resources on how teachers can identify students who might be struggling more and may need to be referred for follow up support.
- District-wide evening SHAI/UPTC presentation to be held September 22nd via Zoom. The topic is: The Anxieties of Living Through a Pandemic: Uncertainty and Fear of the Unknown. It will be held in September and Dr. Oris and a mental health staff panel from District middle and high schools will address the impact on the mental health of students and their families.
Full Remote Instruction
- In GNPS, 25% of students have opted for exclusive remote learning this Fall.
- 802 elementary students will receive full remote instruction
- 939 secondary students will receive full remote instruction
- Buildings are in the process of finalizing class lists and student schedules based on parent decisions which had been submitted by August 5.
- Parents who select the exclusive remote learning option will be contacted by the district in November with an opportunity for their child to return to in-school instruction in January (after the winter break), or to continue remote learning.
Change in the School Calendar
- The first day of school for students is Thursday, September 3. This will be a full day of instruction.
- Additional professional development days have been added to the school calendar for faculty and staff - August 31, September 1 and September 2.
- High School schedules will be accessible to parents on the Infinite Campus Portal on Thursday, August 20.
- Middle School schedules will be accessible to parents on the Infinite Campus Portal on Wednesday, September 2.
- Elementary class lists will be available to parents on Friday, August 28.
Pre-K–12 Instructional Models
- PreK – Grade 5
- In-Person Instruction

Elementary Level: In-Person Instruction
- Daily instruction in-school
- Increased number of class sections in Pre-K through Grade 5
- Decreased class size:
- Grade Pre-K, 9-12 students
- Grades K-5, 12-16 students
- Students remain in classroom cohorts throughout the day with 6 feet social distancing
- Masks worn by staff and students throughout the day
- Mask breaks and movement breaks scheduled throughout the day
- Limited movement throughout the building
- Art, library, and music special area teachers will deliver instruction in classrooms
- PE will take place outside - weather permitting, or, with masks worn in the gymnasium
- SEEK, instrumental music, choral and performance programs, before and after school enrichment, and intramural sports suspended for the 2020-2021 school year
- 800 elementary students will be scheduled to receive full remote instruction
- Director of Interim Elementary Remote Learning Program appointed to coordinate and oversee elementary full remote program
- Class sizes:
- Pre-K = Maximum of 18 students
- Grades K-3 = Average of 24 students
- Grades 4-5 = Average of 25students
- Best practices for remote education will be implemented i.e., combination of synchronous (live) and asynchronous instruction:
- General Education
- Pre-K/K: Daily live, synchronous lessons of a minimum of 20-30 minutes each (literacy, math, handwriting, small group and extra help). Social studies, science, special area instruction will be a mix of synchronous and asynchronous instruction across the week.
- 2nd half of Kindergarten – Grade 5: Daily live synchronous lessons in ELA, Math, and SEL - minimum of 25-35 minutes in grades 1-2 and a minimum of 30-45 minutes in grades 3-5. Plus, live small group and extra help instruction as needed each day. Social studies, science, and special area instruction will be a blended approach of synchronous and asynchronous instruction across each week.
- Special Education
- General Education
- Self-contained 12:1:1, and co-teaching classes will follow the general education grade level schedule.
- Intensive Needs Classes (classes of 6 or 8 students): Daily live video lessons of a minimum of 30 minutes in kindergarten, minimum of 45 minutes in grades 1-2, minimum of one hour in grade 3, and 1.5 hours in grades 4-5. Morning meetings will occur at least 2x weekly for 15 minutes each. Daily asynchronous lessons of approximately the same length for each grade level will also take place. Please note these minutes reflect instruction outside of any related services.
- Support services such as ENL, AIS, and related services will also be scheduled with a mix of live synchronous and asynchronous instruction.
Elementary Instructional Models: Additional Information
- Whether in-person or remote learning, all instruction will be provided by NYS certified teachers, including some newly hired or reassigned
- Teacher Assignments and Class Placement: Class lists will be emailed to parents on the afternoon of Friday, August 28

- Choice of in-person vs remote schooling: Parent choices as of August 5 have been honored and for those who chose remote, in November, an opportunity will be given to choose to return to in-person learning as of January 4, 2021.
- Professional Development
- Building-Based Parent Reopening Meetings will take place no later than Friday, August 21.
- Elementary Open House
- September 9: PKV
- September 14: EMB, JFK, LKV, SR
- Grade level times will be shared by principals prior to Open House events.
- Whether in-person learning or full remote, P/T Conferences, Shared Decision Making, PTA Meetings – all virtual until further notice.
- Parents as partners – ongoing feedback
- Appropriate PPE will be provided to teachers providing special services (i.e.: clear masks, poly-carbonate barriers, gowns, gloves, etc.)
- Special education evaluations (i.e. initial and reevaluations) are conducted to the greatest extent possible whether in-person or remotely within required timelines. Supplemental measures and performance information will be considered if standardized measures are unavailable.
- Programs and services will be provided as per each individual student’s IEP. All services on the continuum will continue to be available to the greatest extent possible. Progress reporting will be done on schedule aligned with the school’s trimester or quarterly report cards.
- Teachers and service providers will continue to collect data, whether in-person or remotely, and use these data to monitor student’s progress toward the annual goals and to evaluate the effectiveness of the student’s special education services.
- To the extent possible, the District is committed to providing a five-days-a-week in-person instruction for students in smaller self-contained classes.
Secondary Level: Hybrid Model for Instruction
- Decrease student population density in secondary schools to support health and safety and maintain 6 feet social distancing protocols.
- Approximately 50% reduction in student density in the buildings.
- Lunch will be served in the cafeteria, other large locations or outside (weather permitting.)
- Middle and High Schools use the same model: Grade 6-12 students follow their nine period schedule every day.
- Students are assigned to “A” and “B” cohorts which alternate between “live” and “remote” learning.
- Siblings from the same household will be placed in the same “A” or “B” cohort so that their days of “live” and “remote” instruction are the same.
- Days of instruction have to be doubled so that students will have in-person experiences in alternate-day classes such as science labs and physical education.
- Instruction while physically present:
- Students follow their regular nine period class schedule - about 1/3 to 1/2 of each class will be in the room and be joined by “remote-only” students assigned to the same cohort.
- Instruction on remote learning days:
- Students are required to check in via live video (no avatars) at the beginning of class via Zoom or Google Meet.
- Teachers provide live, synchronous, or asynchronous instruction.
- Webcams with microphones have been purchased to facilitate instruction - cameras will be turned on during all lessons.
- Student recording and/or posting of lessons is prohibited.
Secondary Level: Fully Remote Model
- While significant efforts were made to create “remote only” secondary school sections for those choosing this instructional model, maintaining student programs including elective course choices precluded the implementation of such a plan.
- Middle and High Schools employ the same educational model: Grade 6-12 students follow their nine period schedule every day.
- Students are assigned to “A” and “B” cohorts and attend classes on the same days as their Hybrid Model counterparts.
- Students from each household are in the same “A” or “B” cohort so that their days of “live” and “remote” instruction are the same regardless of which secondary school they attend.

- Days of instruction have to be doubled to replicate, to the extent possible, the in-person experiences of their “live” counterparts in alternate-day classes such as science labs and physical education.
- Instruction while virtually present with their cohort:
- Students follow their regular class schedule, must be present via live video (no avatars), and will be included in experiences with classmates who will be physically present in the room.
- Instruction on cohort’s remote learning days:
- Students required to check in via live video (no avatars) at the beginning of class via Zoom or Google Meet.
- Teachers provide live, synchronous, or asynchronous instruction.
- Webcams with microphones have been purchased to facilitate instruction—cameras will be turned on during all lessons.
- Student recording and/or posting of lessons is prohibited.
All Secondary Level Instruction
- Students are assigned to “A” and “B” cohorts (about 50% in each)
- Students follow their regular class schedule, are required to check-in via live video (no avatars) on any day which they are not physically present in the classroom, and complete live, synchronous, or asynchronous work during their assigned class periods.
- Class sizes remain within Board guidelines and, on a typical day, about half of each class will receive live instruction either virtually or by being present in school - teachers have the discretion to provide whole-class instruction on some days.
- Support services including ENL and AIS will continue as required by Commissioner’s Regulations and IEP mandates.
- As has been our practice, assessment of student performance is based on graded and ungraded formative and summative assessments, assignments, and activities, and also on student work beyond that required for the course.
- All teachers use the Infinite Campus Portal to record and share student progress.
- Daily contact with all teachers every day ensures that students remain connected to the school community.
- Daily announcements will be posted on-line and be presented during a regular class period for high school students, and during homeroom for middle school students.
- Our teachers are our most valuable resource in serving students; their content and pedagogical expertise are essential elements in the success of these educational models.
- Our parent and guardian partners are essential sources of information; their appropriate feedback to teachers, department heads, and building and District administrators is welcome and supports our efforts to meet learner needs.
- Our students remain at the heart of our decisions and, while we recognize that we cannot replicate fully in-person instruction at this time, we are confident that we have balanced interests well.
Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
- The CARES Act provides approximately $31 billion in emergency education funding to students, schools, institutions, and states across the country.
- Gives New York $1.2 billion to support school districts. This funding would cover a wide range of activities, including cleaning and sanitizing schools, purchasing educational technology such as laptops and hotspot devices, training educators to use online learning tools, ensuring access to education for students with disabilities, and providing students emergency funding for food, housing, and other basic essentials.
- Districts must also provide equitable services to students and teachers in non-public schools.
- The District has filed the necessary paperwork to be eligible to receive funding.
- Expenditures will likely far exceed any federal funding received.
