NMS Parent/Guardian Book Talk

Thursday, February 28th, 2019, at 10:30 a.m.
NMS Library Classroom

Join us for an academic discussion of the nationally renowned book by Jessica Lahey titled,
The Gift of Failure – How the Best Parents Learn to Let Go So Their Children Can Succeed.
Through her observations and research, Lahey believes that we all need to take a step back and let our children fail and learn from their failures.

Ms. Lahey is an American teacher and writer and a contributing columnist for The New York Times. She spent 20 years in the classroom as a middle school and high school teacher. She offers practical, hands-on advice and strategies for “real life” scenarios.

We will have copies of the book available for you to pick up, should you be interested in participating in our lively discussion. Everyone has an opinion on this topic, and some of what she reports could be considered controversial - -which always makes for a dynamic and interesting book talk!

If you are interested in participating in this book talk, please send an email to
