Community Ed Open House Week

Mark your calendar to attend the annual Community Ed Open House Week from Monday, Sept. 23 through Saturday, Sept. 28. If you’ve never taken a class at Community Ed, we invite you to come see what we are about!

Community Ed offers hundreds of classes that are fun, thought-provoking, unique, and creative. During Open House Week, residents are welcome to attend classes at no cost. Meet our instructors, see our facilities, and learn about an exciting program right here in your community!

Open House Week offers a wonderful opportunity to join in one of our fitness and movement classes. We offer exercise classes for all fitness levels, including aerobics, body workout, mindful meditation, movement for those with Parkinson’s, tai chi, water exercise, yoga, Zumba, and more. Dance your heart out in jazz, ballet, creative and classical dance, or line dance.

You may find your inner artist in one of our creative arts and crafts courses, such as aromatherapy, drawing, jewelry making, painting, pastels, printmaking, pottery, or stone sculpting.

Experience the foreign languages we offer, including American Sign Language, Chinese, French, Hebrew, Italian, and Spanish.

Participate in a writing class or book group, or enhance your vocal abilities in one of our many singing classes.

Make new friends as you learn to play games such as bridge, canasta, or mah jongg. Classes and clubs are available for different levels.

Community Ed classes meet at the Cumberland Adult Center, 30 Cumberland Ave., Great Neck (one block south of Northern Blvd., off Lakeville Rd.).
