I’m writing to share a quick update about the COVID testing that will take place in our yellow zone schools next week.
We received a great response to the GNPS COVID Test Consent Form that was emailed on Wednesday to parents/guardians and staff within the designated yellow zone. The total number of consent forms received for in-person students and staff surpassed the 20% minimum testing threshold set by the State.
Every individual who submitted consent via the GNPS Consent Form will receive a COVID test.
Participants must remember to print and fill out the necessary paperwork that was attached to Wednesday’s consent email (along with a copy of your insurance card, front and back, if applicable), and present it at the time of the test. If the paperwork is incomplete, the test provider cannot administer a COVID test to that student or staff member.
I'd like to thank everyone who volunteered to participate in this State-mandated COVID testing. The yellow zone designation and required COVID testing are the latest obstacles we’ve been presented during this pandemic, and once again, our school community has stepped up to the challenge.
Please stay safe and have a relaxing weekend.
Sincerely, Dr. Teresa Prendergast Superintendent of Schools
