Earlier this week, our District conducted COVID-19 testing as required by the State based on Great Neck’s Yellow Zone designation. We completed our testing as scheduled on Tuesday evening, and we anticipated having the results of the tests by today. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for the lab to finish processing all the samples.
I’d like to express my appreciation again to all our families and employees within the yellow zone schools who provided consent for our in-district testing. In the event of a positive test result, the District will contact the infected individual directly and also report the result to the Nassau County Department of Health.
We expect to have the total results by Monday, December 14. I will provide another update to the school community when our data is complete.
Sincerely, Dr. Teresa Prendergast Superintendent of Schools
